How We Authenticate
HOW WE AUTHENTICATE
Three eyes. One AI. Zero compromises.
Every piece we sell, every piece we buy, every consignment we accept — goes through the same triple-verification process. No exceptions.
THE 3-POINT PROCESS
How each piece earns its place.
Physical Expert Review
Two senior authenticators independently inspect every piece by hand. They check stitching, hardware, leather grain, date codes, serial numbers, interior labels, zipper pulls — and crucially, they don't see each other's notes until both are done. If they disagree, the piece goes to a third expert.
Catches: structural inconsistencies, vintage tells, sub-standard hardware.
Entrupy AI Verification
We partner with Entrupy — the industry-standard luxury authentication AI used by major resale platforms worldwide. Their microscopic imaging system analyzes thousands of leather/canvas/hardware data points per piece and matches against a database of millions of verified examples.
Catches: super-fake replicas that pass visual inspection, machine-level material defects.
Provenance Verification
For pieces over CAD $5,000, we require provenance documentation — original receipts, authentication cards, prior consignment records. We cross-reference serial numbers against the brand's official registry where possible, and we keep a chain-of-custody record for every piece in the archive.
Catches: stolen pieces, undeclared restorations, dishonest histories.
OUR GUARANTEE
If we get it wrong, we make it right.
Every piece comes with a 7-day inspection period. From the moment you receive it, you have a full week to verify the piece independently. If anything is not as described — condition, dimensions, hardware, anything — you can return it for a full refund. No questions, no restocking fee.
FAQ
Common questions.
What if a piece doesn't pass authentication?
If you're a consignor, we ship the piece back to you at our expense — no fee, no judgment, no record. If we accidentally accepted something that later fails verification, the entire chain of custody is documented and the piece is removed from circulation immediately.
Do you authenticate non-bag items?
Currently we focus on handbags, small leather goods, shoes, and select jewellery from the nine houses we specialize in (Hermès, Chanel, LV, Dior, Gucci, Prada, Celine, Loewe, Bottega). For watches and fine jewellery beyond our specialty, we work with partner experts on a case basis.
How long does authentication take?
Most pieces clear all three checkpoints in 3–5 business days. Pieces requiring provenance research can take 2–3 weeks. We will not list any piece for sale until it has passed all three points.
Can I see the authentication report?
Yes. Every piece sold comes with a digital authentication certificate including the Entrupy report ID, the names of the human authenticators, and the date of verification. The certificate stays attached to the piece's serial number forever.
